Review and Giveaway: Christian Liberty Press Preschool Curriculum!

What an awesome giveaway for our back to homeschool bash! I saw the Christian Liberty Press Preschool curriculum at our local homeschool conference, and I was quite impressed with it! At that point I had spent all the money I had, so I told myself to be content with the preschool curriculum I had at home (which I didn't pay that much for). I was thrilled when I was given a chance to review the Christian Liberty Press preschool curriculum for the back to homeschool bash, and have a chance to actually use it with Israel! I have discovered that this curriculum is the one thing I will go back to for each child I have! It is so easy to use, and I love the look of the curriculum. What I was using before was just black and white, and while that is not bad, I really appreciate the color found in these books. I also like how it is laid out. They go in steps gradually, but the steps they go in make sense. Each unit contains enough material for one week (though Israel is quite eager so I see us getting through it faster). By the end of the thirty-week course, students should be able to write each letter of the alphabet, pronounce short vowel sounds, count up to ten and much more...

What I have found helpful is to also have the drill book that goes along with the student activity book. Israel was having trouble with one page, and so I turned to the drill book and made sure he mastered the activity before we moved on. It was so nice to have the book laying right there, without having to run to the Internet to try to find a practice page!

The curriculum also comes with five little readers. I am extremely picky on my beginner readers. Most of the readers I see are full of foolish, silly pictures. That just doesn't go over well in our house. They tend to just make my boys get really silly laughing at the pictures and we never get any work done! The readers that come with this curriculum are very sweet, and the pictures are high quality pictures that you don't normally see in beginner readers! By the end of the curriculum, your child should be able to read the words that are highlighted in red, like cat and hat while you read the rest of the story.

Trying to keep little ones busy while you do work with older children is always hard. I have discovered a great way to use this curriculum to keep Israel busy while I'm working his older brother. The pictures in the book can easily be colored in. I sit down and work with Israel on his pages, then later while I'm working with Mosiah and he wants something to do, I have him sit and color the pages in that he has already worked. He is thrilled to be able to do that!

I like that this company is Christian based. That is a big deal for us in our home. The curriculum package also includes the book Trottino's Tales, which are stories about a little bunny. They include ways to bring out the biblical teaching in each story, so I'm eager to start reading that to Israel also.

I would high recommend this curriculum to any homeschooling parent. It looks like it will teach Israel everything he needs to know for preschool, but yet you don't have to spend several hours a day doing it. There are a lot of curriculum's out there for preschool that involve doing a lot of crafts. I am NOT a crafty person, so this works perfect for me!
