Baby Allen Is Here!!!

We are so pleased to announce that Deborah Grace was born Friday, December 30th at 9:50 pm!

She weighs 6 lbs, 15 oz and is 20 inches long. She was born on her due date, which makes this my third baby to be born on their due date!

She is named Deborah after my sweet Mother who passed away a year and a half ago. Her middle name was given to me in church a few weeks ago as the Lord has given me so much grace since my Mom passed away. He has given me strength to go on even though I miss her so much.

All of the children are elated to have a new sister, but the girls especially can't leave her alone!

Olivia holding Deborah for the first time.

The birth was amazing, and I will share a more detailed birth story later. She is nursing well, but having lots of gagging and choking problems so prayers would be appreciated that she would keep enough milk down instead of spitting it up! Other than that we are doing great!

Praise the Lord for His blessing us with another arrow in our quiver!

Congratulations! When I saw your update on Facebook I thought it said Baby "alien" is here (my glasses need a new persription) and I thought, that you must be the only mother in the world to actually think their newborn looks like an alien, then I realized it said Allen. Time to go to the optometrist. Congratulations!

How special! May God give you lots of help and grace in raising another little one for Him. Her name is lovely; and so dear to be named after your mother. I once had a little sister with the name of Deborah. She's in heaven now, and I'm due with my 3rd around her birthday in February, and would love to have it on that day. Blessings to you all!

Caroline, I gave birth to baby #5 about 6 months ago now. She did the baggy / chiming thing for a few months and had milk come out her nose when she would spit up or even when feeding a couple of times. I found it helpful to ave het sit up more while nursing instead of laying down. That can be difficult at 2am ;) I have noticed that she seems to has way more saliva than my other kids did too ;) Another thing that helps her is to keep her upright for about 30 minutes after she eats (usually facing me, laying on my chest while I sit up) or even laying her in her fisher price rock n play chair / bed. We don't have a car seat carrier, but that would probably be good too if you have one. By the way, she is healthy and growing well. Congratulations on your sweet addition. Praying for a quick recovery for you and peace as well :) (Rachel Stevens on FB)
