A Cookbook Giveaway!
Whether we like to cook or not, as mothers we are in charge of planning and cooking our families dinner each night. I love to try a new recipe once in a while, but it has to be easy and family friendly. Martha Stewart type cookbooks just don't get used!
I love to look up recipes online, but I also have several cookbooks sitting on my kitchen shelf that are used often. I like recipes that are written from other moms who understand time constraints in the kitchen.
A blog reader sent me a cookbook to review that their church just recently put together as a fundraiser. I like church cookbooks, as normally the food is basic standard meals that are easy to put together. I wasn't disappointed when looking through this cookbook! There are quite a few recipes I am excited to try out.
Here is some information on the cookbook."We are growing so fast that even having three different worship services on Sunday is barely enough to accommodate all of our parishioners. It's time to build a bigger church! To meet our financial goals, we've published a beautiful hardback cookbook with full color cover and dividers featuring over 300 of the best recipes from families and friends of the St. John Vianney Latin Mass Community in Maple Hill, KS."
They even have a page of free recipes online so you can get a feel for what is in the book! Click here to see the recipes, and make sure you check out the Homemade Rice A Roni recipe. I haven't tried it yet but it's on my list to make with a variation of brown rice in it.
All proceeds from the sale of the cookbook go to help build a church, so when you buy a cookbook you are helping a group of people get a new church faster! You can order online here.
I also have two of these cookbooks to giveaway!!
To enter, simply leave a comment letting me know if you use cookbooks frequently, or if you cook from scratch without recipes.

I would love to win this book! My 14 year old daughter and I both cook with cookbooks or online recipes. She actually wants to go to cooking school after graduation. There is one close to us so she can try out her recipes on her family.... :D
I love cookbook! I use them frequently, but also use the internet and recipes I clip from magazines. I'm not to much a "cook from scratch" person, but I do love to cook!

I absolutely LOVE to cook and have a passion for great cookbooks. I also tend to not stick to the rule of the recipe im using and tend to add my own ideas into it by switching it up to try something new.

I love cookbooks! I have a cabinet full that I use regularly. But I also make up meals from scratch fairly often as well. My little boy has a metabolic disorder so I also cook special meals for him.
I use cookbooks! I love finding new recipes to try!

I am always on the lookout for a good cookbook. I usually find a recipe I like and then play with it and make it my own. I love to cook but sometimes I find I need inspiration as I get stuck in a rut cooking my old standbys.

I use a lot of cookbooks and recipes! A few recipes I have stored away in my noggin, but for the most part, I use my cookbooks! :)

I am a cookbook person, too. I use recipes off the internet to start me off on the road to creating my own version of a dish. I also do a lot of freestyle cooking. I usually get rid of cookbooks after I find those recipes I really like. Those favorites end up in my recipe binder. A new cookbook would be great!
I like to use recipes from the internet, cookbooks, and scratch recipe twisting :)

I usually use a cookbook or recipes from online when I cook. I'm not very good with "from scratch", but I do play with recipes sometimes once I'm comfortable making them.
I would really like to win this! I'm a terrible cook and need directions. When we married, my husband did all of our cooking. It wasn't until baby 3 of currently 5 was born that I've had to take over and it hasn't been all that great. LOL
St. Vianney, pray for me!
I love to cook and cookbooks are some of my favorite books! I cook a lot by scratch! I'd love to try this cookbook! Thank you!

oh I use both, I have lots of cookbooks, but only a couple I use regular. but than I'm one that sees a recipe, but by the time I'm done its not exactly what the recipe was anyhow :)
I do a little of each type of cooking. But It's always fun to try something new!
Thanks for a fun giveaway.

I am a cookbook person - I even like to read them . . . . well, okay, not exactly read them, I will go through and drool over the pictures and if the picture looks good enough then I'll actually peruse the ingredient list:) Other than that I am only adventurous in not using a cookbook when I'm making casserole - really, how hard is it to mess up a casserole:D
I use recipes as guidelines, but I never measure and I add and subtract ingredients and amounts according to my family's tastes. My boys are amazing at coming up with interesting and amazing concoctions.
I use cookbooks pretty regularly. I have my favorites that I make recipes from all the time and you can always spot those by the food dribbles on them! I also use the internet a lot to research recipes and then I save the ones that become favorites in a binder.

I love cookbooks and definitely use recipes!!
I like to use cookbooks, but I also cook from scratch. Sometimes I will take part of one recipe and part of another and part of my own idea and put it all together!
I tend to cook without a recipe or search online to find out what I might make with my ingredients. I love cookbooks more for reading them cover to cover and getting inspiration.
