It gave me horrible Braxton Hicks contractions. I was miserable! When I asked my midwife about it, she said it does that sometimes...which would have been fine if they were doing something, but I wasn't dilating or effacing any faster because of it. So, I decided to stop using it since the Braxton Hicks were so painful. My labor was 4 1/2 hours long. However, my last baby was born in 3 hours...so maybe I just go quickly. The Scribblerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12228660271032237472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46042966286263963.post-26795907292408767312012-01-18T10:31:03.268-06:002012-01-18T10:31:03.268-06:00Thank you! This is timely, as I was needing to refresh my memory from my last pregnancy and get going with my red raspberry leaf tea.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46042966286263963.post-58950255630081319492012-01-17T22:33:09.072-06:002012-01-17T22:33:09.072-06:00The RRL has been wonderful for me too. With my fourth (and every one since) I drank the RRL tea starting at 35 weeks and felt so much better and had almost no false labor. It also helped with energy the last trimester as well as recovery.Large family, small worldhttp://www.largefamilysmallworld.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46042966286263963.post-19284362262075488362012-01-17T18:39:21.761-06:002012-01-17T18:39:21.761-06:00I second the Cal-Mag... my midwife was telling me ...I second the Cal-Mag... my midwife was telling me how much it helps reduce the afterbirth pains, but she said you have to start early (3rd trimester) and let it build up in your system. She did have me on it last pregnancy, but to help with early contractions and it did lessen those pains and shorten their duration. And if there is anything I hate, it's those pains! I think they're worse than the contractions because you're trying to relax and get into a good nursing pattern with the baby but those pesky pains keep you so tense!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04180289951777672150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46042966286263963.post-5287042110989306562012-01-17T12:32:06.189-06:002012-01-17T12:32:06.189-06:00Thank you so much for writing this up! After the second I started drinking Red Raspberry tea and it helped a lot with the bleeding I drank a lot the first couple weeks and then cut down to 1 a day. I noticed a huge difference in my next 3 cycles! They were the "best" :) I ever had. I drank it a lot with my last little one and she was the easiest birth I ever had! The fact she was so late might have helped as she was really ready to come :).
Liquid Cal-Mag is great for after birth pains.
I have 10 days till my "due" date ... I can't wait to see how this birth goes. Well, I can't wait to hold our little one :).
I also drink the pregnancy tea that you recommended from the Bulk Herb Store.1HappyWifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15175834483002861618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46042966286263963.post-28814017489463415632012-01-17T10:54:56.473-06:002012-01-17T10:54:56.473-06:00I'm 31 weeks and I'm going to start taking...I'm 31 weeks and I'm going to start taking the RRL next week like you. My first baby was born at 37wks but thankfully I was already taking EPO. I'm going to try it again this time. I have a feeling this baby is going to come early as well so I might start the EPO early again this time. Thanks so much for sharing!A Restful Placehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14607418892074445318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46042966286263963.post-90591205903325983052012-01-17T10:28:15.299-06:002012-01-17T10:28:15.299-06:00Great article! The other things I am doing are alfalfa tablets for vitamin K levels (since we skip the shot for baby), Floradix for iron levels, and vitamin C to promote an intact amniotic sac. I also use placenta medicine after the birth and have experienced absolutely miraculous effects from that on lessened bleeding, lessened and shortened afterpains, and evened emotions. All good stuff!

DianaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
