I sounds to me like you have bee...Congratulations!

I sounds to me like you have been suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum and not morning sickness (morning sickness is far more mild).

I'm going through it for my fourth time :o) Thankfully I've been blessed with a wonderful Christian Doctor who has taken it very seriously.

I also started getting sick at six weeks. Eventually I couldn't move or even speak without throwing up. What worked for me was a combination of Diclectin (it's vitamin B with an antihistamine, most common drug for pregnancy nausea in Canada) and Maxeran (nausea drug used for chemo patients).

I'm 26 weeks now and still sick in the mornings, but it's normal morning sickness at this point, and not hyperemesis.

I'm so glad to see you have lots of help!! Tiredness and stress always makes the nausea so much worse.

When I can't hold food down I find meal replacement drinks such as Boost or Ensure are a good option, and since they are dairy free they aren't so terrible when they come back up :) Yogurt also worked really well for me when I was really sick - it's easy on the tummy and a good source of protein for Baby.Amynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46042966286263963.post-74800539451050809392011-06-15T15:06:51.592-05:002011-06-15T15:06:51.592-05:00Congratulations, Caroline! It is the worst sickness I know of - just seems like nothing helps...except time. I, too, spent a lot of time in bed during those weeks - I'm so glad it's over and I really hope that yours gets better soon! I know how truly miserable it can be, especially with younger ones around to take care of.
Thanks so much for your visit to my blog, and your kind comments. I realize now that I've been to your online shop before :) Love your ruffle skirts! And, sure, you are more than welcome to post a link to my maternity post. I love clothes, SHOPPING for clothes, and maternity clothes were no exception - I had fun finding cute things to wear, and I hope that post helps other ladies who are looking for modest maternity things.
So nice to meet you, and I hope you feel better soon!Brittanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00105831355372502517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46042966286263963.post-70016584963710822112011-06-09T15:35:51.078-05:002011-06-09T15:35:51.078-05:00Congratulations! I know how difficult it can be having so many little ones at once, but it is a season, and the older ones grow and help with the younger ones. Enjoy your children, one day at a time! They grow SO fast. 6 of our children are 8 and under, so I understand the craziness! I am looking forward to your homeschooling ideas (especially dealing with babies, toddlers and preschoolers while doing school with the older ones). That's exactly how I look and feel through the first 4 months of every pregnant. And yes, home schooling through this adds additional challenges. In fact, morning sickness is the reason we are almost 2 months behind on schoolwork right now, but that's ok because the beauty of home learning is it's so flexible.

I'm 32 weeks along now and number 6 is due in August - yep, just a few weeks before school starts - so I know just how you feel with the challenges facing you.

It's so good that you have your mother as a shining example, and don't ever forget you have us, your "virtual friends" here on the blog, praying for you and baby, and encouraging you in any way we can.

Blessings,
AnneAnne S.http://zephyrhill.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46042966286263963.post-90728184494388028252011-06-09T15:09:21.298-05:002011-06-09T15:09:21.298-05:00Congratulations!!
